Synopsis

It's not easy being the gangster rapper YOUNG MORDER who runs the school, breaks the system and gets the ladies when you're really just Anas Hashim from Year 6. And it doesn't get any better when you have a name no one can pronounce, are madly in love with the unattainable Clarissa and have to share your mum with a cat called Mouritz.

Good thing Anas has his loyal friend Yaqub, who is always there 100 per cent - even when YOUNG MORDER has to decide how much he's willing to lie, steal - and risk the love of his life - to deliver the scorching verse that will get him on stage with his biggest idol M:ALI.

What a Life is the first book in a series. There are currently four books published and two further books in the pipeline.

Personal note from the author

When I started writing at a very young age, I thought that if I wrote something, I had to rap it. So I've always done that, and I think that's why rhymes and rhythms almost always find their way into my writing.

I always listen to music when I write. Mostly jazz or just low key stuff, never vocals, it distracts me when I'm already working with words.

An exception might be Persian music, perhaps because my brain doesn't grasp the words in the same way as it would with Danish or English.
