Synopsis
How do you know if you're evil? Are you evil? Are you?
In a moment of anger, Simon wishes that his succesful and popular twin brother had never been born. The next morning his brother is really gone and it's as if he never existed - he has disappeared from all family photos and their parents appear to have no recollection of them ever having had twin sons.
Simon realises that a passage to another world has opened up through a painting in his room, and he puts his life on the line to find his brother and bring him back to their family. He enters the portal to another world through the painting and sets out on a perilous journey to set things right.
Reviews
"The Destiny Maker is an exciting and colourful fabulation that also tackles some very big issues." – (Weekendavisen)
"The comic The Destiny Maker is a hugely impressive achievement, which with energy, ingenuity and plenty of narrative joy serves up a fantasy adventure from a world that the reader almost feels surrounded by. Effective changes of style, varied and thoughtful colouring and the familiar, lively Kenneth Bøgh-Andersen dialogue. It's quite simply a pleasure." – (Jyllandsposten)
"An ambitiously drawn fantasy adventure. [...] Kenneth Bøgh Andersen and Lars Gabel skilfully walk hand in hand into the unknown" – (Politiken)
"This really is a gorgeous publication. From the beautiful cover's spider web with the painting portal in the middle to the thick, glossy paper with perfect colouring. [...] I'm very excited about The Destiny Maker, which may have a target audience of children and young people, but an adult reader can definitely read along." – (Litteratursiden)
