Synopsis
Kitty Kitty can't bark like the dog, chirp like the bird or climb trees like the little squirrel. Kitty Kitty is nobody, nothing... or who are we to say? A warm and philosophical picture story.
The fifth joint book by the duo, Rebecca Bach-Lauritsen and Charlotte Pardi, is a story about identity. About finding out who you really are and where you fit in. About meeting the world with openness and at the same time being able to sort out other people's opinions, because sometimes you have to meet a lot of people on your way before you find yourself.
Reviews
"A well-functioning picture book about identity and understanding who you are. The main character is the cat Kitty Kitty. A nice touch is that at no point is it said that Kitty Kitty is a cat. It is only the recognition of the silhouette that shows that Kitty Kitty is different from the other animals, and we do not know whether it is a male or a female. This will undoubtedly make the child actively engage in the reading aloud and perhaps comment along the way. The individual, but expressive illustrations support the action and play nicely with the underlying humor of the text. Most of the colors are kept in soft shades, Kitty Kitty and all the animals are black, except for Mis Mis, who is orange-red." – (Library review (Lektørudtalelse)
