Synopsis

The year is 1349 and the plague is spreading like wildfire across Europe.

Jeppe's father is an outlaw, so it's important that Jeppe doesn't socialise with other people. But when he meets Ane, a shepherd girl, it's hard to stay away and their friendship blossoms.

In Ane's village, there are rumours of a disease that is spreading far away in Italy. It's too far away to worry about. But the plague, as the disease is called, is travelling at lightning speed and soon it makes its way into the village.
