The White Ravens 2020 catalogue was presented in connection with Frankfurt Book Fair and Babel-Bridge is proud to represent three out of four of the children's book gems from Denmark this year.
The Stiftung Internationale Jugendbibliothek every year chose a selection of representative children's literature from around the world - the list is announced before Frankfurt Book Fair and the books are usually presented physically at Bologna Book Fair the following year. Who knows what will happen in Spring 2021 - but for now, please take a moment to look at the three gems in question virtually at the new Babel-Bridge website:
- Summer Friends written by Annette Bjørg and illustrated by Camilla Wichmann is a picture book from Carlsen about old age and the encounter between generations (coming soon on the BB .
- Dream Bikes and Soccer Dogs written by Carsten René Nielsen and illustrated by Mette Marcussen is a picture book from Vild Maskine with wonderful off-beat poems.
- When the Heart is a Hand Mixer by Mette Vedsø is a YA novel, aimed at 12+, published here by Høst & Søn (part of Gyldendal) about a young girl struggling with anxiety and the pressure to perform.
