Synopsis

Viola’s parents are divorced, and now Viola is supposed to live in two places. But she doesn’t want to. Dad’s new apartment isn’t very cozy, and it’s a long way from the old house where Mum still lives.

Dad wants to make things nice, preferably with Viola’s help, but it’s hard for her to make an effort because then it feels as though it really is the end of the possibility that Mum and Dad might move back in together.

But when Viola meets Iris, something happens. Iris has lots of ideas about what Viola can do with her new room, and when Dad also starts listening to Viola’s ideas, the room slowly begins to become Viola’s. Truly hers.

The books about Viola are about being caught in the middle of a divorce, but also about finding your voice and being heard — even when you don’t always get your way.
