Tove Wonders - a Long Story

Tove tænker - en lang historie

Moving, heartfelt and thought-provoking at the same time, this book combines four previously published short novels about Tove, which were rewritten to form a coherent narrative.

Mette Vedsø (b. 1968) studied chemistry and biotechnology, then trained at the Writer’s School for Children’s Literature. Since 2010, she has written several critically acclaimed children’s books, including picture books and tween novels. Her work is suffused with an implicit understanding for children, especially the slightly displaced ones with big hearts – her observations and writing are moving, subtle and poetic.

Synopsis

There's enough to think about in Tove's life!

There's Kuk who is 16 and Kioko from the island of Fyn.

There is cool uncle Don in London and nasty Elvira who has the class in her iron grip.

There is Lulu from Aarhus, who has changed way too much since last summer.

And what about odd cousin, Frank?

Luckily, there is also Gudrun and then there is of course athletics and music and crazy cakes and perhaps Tove will turn vegetarian?

Over a period of a year, you are invited into Tove's life with school and family, and on trips to Sweden, London and Aarhus (but not Madagascar!).

With black and white illustrations by Stine Illum.
