Synopsis
The Game is about 14-year-old Lui, who lives alone with his mother. When Lui drops his phone in the toilet and breaks it, he looks for a phone among his missing father's belongings and finds an old phone, but also other things that lead him on the trail of a secret basement room and his father's story, which contains a number of (digital) secrets...
Lui and his friends, Oscar and Sara, are thrown into a new form of Virtual Reality game, called "Simulation Reality". But something goes wrong... and suddenly they are faced with the ultimate question - what is a game, and what is reality?
The Game is a suspenseful novel for young adults (YA) with important themes such as anxiety, consciousness, AI / artificial intelligence, gaming, loss of parents, dementia, friendship, budding love - and not least the complex question of how to know what is real.
Dive into this psychological thriller where the line between nightmare and reality is blurred, and where Lui must confront both external threats and internal demons.

"This book should be on the shelf! A really exciting horror story that you just can't put down. There are many brilliant surprises along the way. The book is extremely relevant, as artificial intelligence is of interest to many children and young people." – (Danish Library Centre (DBC)
"Landgreen paints with language. The descriptions are lined up and create the eerie atmosphere. Recommended for middle grade and has the highest level of educational potential." – (@bogoplevelsen)
