General Terms and Conditions:

Thank you for signing up for an account with Babel-Bridge Literary Agency!

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are a binding legal agreement between you and Babel-Bridge Literary Agency that govern your use of the websites, applications, and other offerings from Babel-Bridge Literary Agency. When used in these Terms, “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to the Babel-Bridge Literary Agency entity with whom you are contracting.

The Babel-Bridge Literary Agency Platform offers an online venue that enables acquisitions editors (“Editors”) to browse book material (“Books”) represented by Babel-Bridge Literary Agency on behalf of either the originating publisher (“Publishing Company”) or the Author (Proprietor). In order to create an account, Editors provide their full name, email address, the name of their employer company, as well as the territory in which they work, and if the account is approved by us, Editors are able to access all the material needed in order to properly assess the Book.

By using the Babel-Bridge Literary Agency Platform and by ticking the box in the sign-up window, you certify that you have read and reviewed this Agreement and that you agree to comply with its terms.

1.   Our mission

Our Mission is to make it easier for Editors and Associates in our network to assess the Books that we represent in the translation markets on behalf of Publishers and Authors in the country of origin. In your account, you will be able to download material, prepare for our book fair meetings and provide feedback on the Books you have downloaded previously.

2. Your responsibilities

The intellectual property of the Books on the Babel-Bridge Literary Agency Platform belong to the Publishing Company or the Author. The material you download is for your eyes only and we trust that you only share it internally in your employer company or with trusted professional partners, such as readers or translators.

If you decide that you want to acquire the rights to a Book you have found on our Platform, please contact Babel-Bridge Literary Agency via email or telephone to make an official offer. If you are aware that we work with an Associate in your market, please contact the relevant party. 

You agree to not reproduce or redistribute any intellectual property you come across on the Platform without having a valid signed agreement in place with Babel-Bridge Literary Agency and its partners.

3. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Babel-Bridge Literary Agency and its affiliates and hold Babel-Bridge Literary Agency harmless against legal claims and demands that may arise from your use or misuse of our Platform. We reserve the right to select our own legal counsel.

4. Liability

Babel-Bridge Literary Agency is not liable for any damages that may occur to you as a result of your misuse of our Platform.

Babel-Bridge Literary Agency reserves the right to edit, modify, and change this Agreement at any time. We shall let Account Holders know of these changes through electronic mail.

5. Applicable law

By using the Babel-Bridge Literary Agency platform, you agree that the terms of our agreement are governed by and construed in accordance with Danish law.
