Carl Quist-Møller

Danish author, illustrator and musician behind new utterly charming picture book about the power of reading

Carl Quist-Møller (b. 1964) is a Danish animator from the Danish Cartoon Company and has also studied at the Danish Design School.

When he was in his twenties, he illustrated his father’s story about the Jungle Creature Hugo, which became a great success in Denmark. He is also known from children’s television and is a hugely popular public speaker/live illustrator/event maker.

Carl Quist-Møller has always thought, written and experienced things in pictures and in his career as a writer he has been focused on wanting to include and appeal to the children, who - like him - are primarily visually oriented. His ambition is to create stories which make the imagination and the ability to fantasize bloom.

With the Pete the Read Porcupine, he has drawn and written a celebration to reading and imagination – the book shows how good books make you forget both time and place.
