Synopsis

Jonas has joined a professional youth team in a German club and he is moving up the ranks. When one of the main attackers is taken off the first team, Jonas gets 4 minutes in a match and doesn’t get to touch the ball, but he feels the surge of the 50.000 supporters. The 4 minutes soon become 10 and there is more to come.

Jonas has always believed in himself and worked hard for his success, but injuries cannot be controlled. When he has an accident, he isolates himself and even Jennifer, who he is cautiously dating, is rejected. His time outside football is full of temptations and suddenly he owes the wrong people money.

If he is to survive away from his home turf, he has to give his absolute best.

Reviews

"This is a genuinely good continuation of Topscorer. The novels manages to tell both the story about the young Younes and his journey towards growing up and becoming wiser, as well as giving us a glimpse of the more shady parts of a popular sport like football." – Martin W Hansen (DBC (Danish Library Centre))
